Moscow police thwart terrorist attack

POLICE in central Moscow intercepted a car packed with explosives yesterday and said they had thwarted a terrorist attack. The driver told investigators he was being paid $1,000 to take the car to a road used by President Vladimir Putin to travel to and from the Kremlin. He died from a heart attack in hospital after questioning.

A FATHER flying a kite on a seaside cliff with his five-year-old son was killed when he fell 150ft over the edge. The accident happened when Barry Ripley, 38, of Newhaven, East Sussex, was on Seaford Head cliffs.

THE former child actor Macaulay Culkin has been arrested on drug charges. Culkin, 24, best known for the film Home Alone, was detained in Oklahoma City after marijuana was found in a car.
