Despite being only two months old, Elena and the family’s basset hound, Rufus, are already close. “He’s very protective. If she cries, he goes and gets a toy for her,” Philippa-Lucy says. “We were really nervous at first because he has been our ‘baby’ for the last three years, but he has just been perfect.”
Elena is a “perfect mix” of her parents and came out with “a whole head of dark hair” to match theirs. Elena’s middle names are significant. Isabella is in remembrance of Gavin’s grandmother, who recently passed away; Jocelyn is after Philippa-Lucy’s older sister, who was “delighted and very touched” by the gesture.
Wilfred Jet Baker was born on December 16, 2016 at Whittington Hospital, north London, to Ruth Emery, 34, and Lawrence Baker, 34

It seems Wilfred will not be a gambler: “I don’t have a good poker face and he seems to have inherited it from me,” Ruth says. “He’s a very expressive baby. He’s been smiling since he was two weeks old and even practises his smiles in his sleep.”

His name is in part to honour Ruth’s great-grandmother Winifred. His middle name was his father’s idea. “My husband is very into kung fu, so it is inspired by Jet Li; but he also used to be an aeronautical engineer, so it’s a nod to that as well,” she says.
The couple are looking forward to taking Wilfred to Asia because they have lived in Hong Kong, and Lawrence is half-Malaysian.
