“Patrick’s name was debated right up to the moment of his registration at Leith Town Hall. The only one of his names that we were certain on was William, after his late grandfather.
His other grandpa, Andrew, 85, has The Times delivered to his house every day. Patrick’s mother, Lynda, finds that reading from the paper to her newborn son in a “baby talk” voice gives a new perspective on broadsheet journalism.
Twins Paul and Claire are delighted by their new little brother, and granny is also overjoyed by Patrick’s arrival in the world, which happily for them just avoided the date of the UK’s triggering of Article 50 on March 29 and April Fool’s Day.

It is believed that Charlotte will have a penchant for travel, as both her parents work in the industry. Her first name was chosen because her parents “always liked it and think it suits her rather royal personality!”
Her middle name honours Katie’s mother, who sadly died of motor neurone disease a few weeks before Charlotte was born. Charlotte is a great source of joy to her three other grandparents, as well as to aunts and uncles.
Charlotte loves songs and being sung to; she is very chatty, with a big, cheeky smile. She was born with lots of silver blonde hair and still has it.
