ENGINEERING Tim Stevenson, the first outsider to chair Travis Perkins since the builder’s merchant was founded in 1898, has been appointed chairman of Morgan Crucible, the engineer. Mr Stevenson, 58, will replace Lars Kylberg, who will retire on December 1. His appointment comes barely a month after Morgan Crucible reported that bid talks with parties said to be private equity houses had collapsed.
