Bardolph Eske was born on September 27, 2015, at Church Farm, Stow Bardolph Rare Breeds Centre, Norfolk
The rare breed White Park bull calf was born to mum Heathylee Sally Abigail and dad Ashenfield Talus. Abigail is proving to be a good mum to Eske, and has lots of milk which is lucky because the new arrival has a very healthy appetite. He enjoys playing and socialising with the rest of the herd out in the field. Later on, Eske will be halter trained to enable him to participate in Animal Encounters at the Farm, where he will meet visitors. When he is a bit older he will father calves of his own. White Park cattle are a “minority” status, with 750-1,000 registered breeding females in Britain. www.churchfarmstowbardolph.co.uk; 01366 382162
Parents Pixie and Undi welcomed a new baby silvery marmoset on August 8, 2015, at Twycross Zoo in Warwickshire
The baby is doing well and having fun exploring his environment. If there are no complications before or at the baby’s birth, the zoo keepers allow newborns and their families to settle and bond without any human interaction. They will sex and then name the baby during its annual health check later in the year. These monkeys can be easily spotted due to their silver-white bodies and bald ears and faces. They are a very vocal species with different calls to express excitement when playing, or to alert each other of danger as they would in their native forests of South America. www.twycrosszoo.org; 0844 474 1777
