My worst move

MARK ONYETT, 32, chief executive officer of TDX Group, a debt brokerage firm (www.tdxgroup.com)

My first serious job after university was at Procter & Gamble. As part of my work experience there I was making and packing Fairy Liquid. While investigating a new bottle transport solution, I temporarily blocked the line with my hand to see how the light sensors worked. Little did I know that I backed up the line coming out of the bottler and the light sensor that I was looking at was supposed to sense a backup and stop the line. As I had stopped the bottles before it, the bottler kept kicking out bottles which were squashed and their contents emptied on to the floor. The shift supervisor and machine operator weren’t that amused by the giant bubble bath my little experiment had created.
