Nish bolsters executive David Nish, who took over as chief executive at Standard Life on January 1, has announced the first new appointments to his executive: Christian Torkington is to be group information and operations director on March 1. Mr Torkington joins from RSA Insurance Group. Sandy Begbie, who will join from Aegon, is group transformation director. Standard Life said that Nathan Parnaby, chief executive of Standard Life Europe, would assume executive responsibility for the group’s Asian business.

Jackson to head Travelex Peter Jackson is to take up the position of chief executive officer of Travelex Group, foreign exchange and international payments company, from “early spring”. Mr Jackson is managing director of Lloyds’ consumer banking division. He has worked for HBOS and McKinsey & Co.

Citigroup gets Asia adviser Citigroup has appointed Alasdair Morrison to the newly created role of Asia senior adviser. Mr Morrison has previously held chief executive and chairman roles at Morgan Stanley Asia and prior to that worked for Jardine Matheson Group in the region.

Milne heads for LSE Kevin Milne started as director of post-trade services at the London Stock Exchange yesterday. LSE said Mr Milne “has held senior positions at a number of important service providers to the capital markets”.

StatPro strengthens team StatPro Group, a provider of data solutions for asset management, has appointed Robert Campbell and Christopher Ruby to its European business development and sales team. Mr Ruby will be business development manager UK and Scotland and Mr Campbell takes the same role for new business UK and Ireland.

KBC appoints three chiefs KBC Peel Hunt, a mid and small-cap corporate broking and advisory firm, has made three appointments. Stuart Duncan joins the equity research team from the Royal Bank of Scotland. Mark McGuinness joins as a director in the sales trading team and Andrew Chapman, previously of Citi, joins KBC this week as managing director and head of corporate broking and equity capital markets.
