Windfall for Standard Life policyholders
Standard Life’s shareholders, including more than 60,000 policyholders in Ireland, are in line for windfalls after the insurance company promised to pay out 80% of the £2.2bn (€2.7bn) it will receive from the sale of its business in Canada.

McCue accumulates Paddy Power shares
Andy McCue, who takes over as chief executive of Paddy Power in January, has disclosed he owns 8,100 shares in the bookmaker, worth €425,250 (€535,600) at Friday’s closing price of €52.50. The shares are down by 16% since the start of the year.
Shock interest rate cut inflates Iseq
The Iseq rose 171 points to end the week at 4,954 following a surprise interest rate reduction by the European Central Bank.
Over a year shares are up 17.5% (up 19.3% with dividends), while the Central Statistics Office’s house price index is up 13.4%.
Over three years shares are up 103.5% (up 116.3% with dividends), while house prices were unchanged.
