A father from Bradford who is feared to have taken his wife and five children to Syria is linked to online forums discussing Osama bin Laden and a Taliban leader, The Times can reveal.

Imran Ameen, 39, and his wife, Farzana Ameen, 40, were reported missing with their five children aged 5 to 15, by members of their family on Tuesday. They may have followed Mr Ameen’s brother Rehan Noor Ul Ameen, who travelled to Turkey in June, police said.

Assistant Chief Constable Russ Foster said: “The indication is that they have got a one-way ticket.”

Mr Ameen has links to a number of websites alongside his business dealing car parts online, nicedeals.co.uk. The sites are registered to his email address and to the same PO box as his business, but under another name.

Among the sites under his ad revenue account was Islamicmovements.com, where the administrator had shared articles on conflicts involving Islamism, with pages for Osama bin Laden, the Taliban leader Mullah Omar, Hamas and Hezbollah.
