Ministers’ duties

Surely some parts of a Minister’s role, including travel, are essential jobs rather than optional extras

Sir, I am intrigued to know which former and current British Ministers “are often unwilling to travel overseas or to receive foreign dignitaries in the United Kingdom” (letter, Mar 8). Are these not obligatory duties?
