Mike Tindall, the England captain, has agreed a one-year extension to his contract at Gloucester which will keep him at the Premiership side until 2012.
Tindall, deputising for the injured Lewis Moody, has captained England to three consecutive victories in this year’s RBS Six Nations. He is currently in his sixth season at Gloucester after joining from local rivals Bath in 2005.
The 32-year-old, a member of England’s 2003 World Cup-winning team, said that the decision to extend his contract was a straightforward one.
“I didn’t really entertain the idea of being anywhere else to be honest. I love the club, the supporters, the area. Signing on again wasn’t a difficult decision,” Tindall said.
“Bryan Redpath (head coach) and the other coaches have created a great atmosphere around the club and we’re all enjoying our rugby.

“This season has been good but we still have some massive games to come which will determine exactly how good it will have been once it’s all over. I’m looking forward to playing my part.”
Tindall will win his 70th England cap on Sunday when he lines up against Scotland at Twickenham as England continue their search for a first Grand Slam since 2003.
