Liberty London has expanded its men’s department with its first refurbishment in ten years. The department gets an extra 1,000sq ft and includes a specialist barber, Ruffians, and a new T-shirt gallery. Exclusive pieces include a loose mustard sweater, £295, in a cashmere blend, and a washed corduroy slack jacket, £820, both from Helbers. A Liberty-print shirt with an Edenham floral design is yours for £130, above, along with designer labels such as Officine Générale (libertylondon.com).

Specially for you

As it celebrates its 40th anniversary, East London menswear brand Drake’s has launched a made-to-order service.

Shirts, costing £195, are made in Somerset in a choice of fit, fabrics, collars and cuffs – which are hand-lined – and have ethically sourced mother of pearl and horn buttons. Its ties aren’t much cheaper, at £175, but they are made to individual length to scale, so the knot is in proportion to the fit (drakes.co.uk).

Old-school kit

Kurt Geiger has introduced a retro-style trainer inspired by vintage football shirts. The sneakers, £95, are in grey, navy or tan suede – not colours, it has to be said, one associates with our football heritage, but they do look cool (kurtgeiger.com).

5 reasons why we love... Huawei Watch 2 smartwatch

1. It works with Apple and Android phones and links to Google Assistant …
2. … but you don’t need to have your phone with you on a workout.
3. It offers live GPS mapping with real-time guidance …
4. … plus daily tracking of heart rate, steps, etc.
5. You can select different faces depending on what you’re using it for (£220; amazon.co.uk).
