Frescobol Carioca, the Brazil-inspired menswear brand created by two British friends, has opened a new store in Notting Hill, London, complete with a revolving “concept” space, no less. For the launch, Brazilian entrepreneur Fernanda Abdalla has created a pop-up inspired by the coastal village of Trancoso, including collections from a range of designers.

Naturally, the rest of the store’s 650sq ft are packed with the brand’s beachwear and accessories, which include bats, towels, bags and hats, overseen by a massive print of Christ the Redeemer. Latest pieces include the blue Leme print sport shorts and the Ipanema print shorts, both £145 (frescobolcarioca.com).

The Tyneham watch from Elliot Brown, with a two-stage 360 movement shock absorption system, £795, is claimed to be tough enough to withstand the force of a 3kg mallet, and is water-resistant to 300m. Unsurprisingly, outdoor types such as presenter Steve Backshall, explorer Ed Stafford and sailor Sir Robin Knox-Johnston are fans of the brand (elliotbrownwatches.com).

5 reasons why we love... Snugs custom headphones
1. They really are customised: you start by booking a scan of your ear canal. 2. Then you choose colours, whether they’re wireless, etc, and they are delivered to you in two weeks. 3. Obviously, they fit you perfectly and block out external noise … 4. … and, by the same token, keep your music to yourself, so you don’t annoy fellow train passengers. 5. Their dynamic 10mm neodymium drivers offer up good sound quality (from £199.99; snugsearphones.co.uk).
