Lord Roll of Ipsden
A memorial celebration for the life of Lord Roll of Ipsden was held yesterday at LSO St Luke’s, Old Street, London, EC1.
The Hon Joanna Roll and the Hon Mrs Elizabeth Foldes, daughters, bade welcome.
Hella Pick, Mr Christopher Purvis, Pierleone Ottolenghi and Mr Graham C Greene gave readings.
Sir David Scholey and Lord Barnett paid tribute. During the celebration Mr James Meldrum and the Medici quartet played music by Mozart. Mr Jonathan Gumthorpe sang, accompanied by Mr Philip Walsh. Among others present were: Mr Peter Foldes (son-in-law), Mr Phineas Foldes and Miss Abigail Foldes (grandchildren) with other members of the family, friends and former colleagues were present.
