—Heart 106.2’s annual bash, or Retox as it is otherwise known, got underway on Wednesday night at Valdonne in London’s West End. With the sole aim of putting a clear end to the January detox, each year guests enjoy an unhealthy centrepiece. While in previous years it was vodka ice sculptures and chocolate fountains, this year saw Global Radio’s senior executives Richard Park and Ashley Tabor eat their way through a giant wall of cake. The wall was made from 100 bricks weighing in at 150kg. Decorating the cake were 300 Smarties, 500 Jelly Tots, 450 chocolate flake bars, 300 Dolly Mixtures and chocolate and vanilla muffins. The real question is whether Mr Tabor, who is currently pursuing a potential bid for GCap Radio, will be able to have his cake and eat it.

—Fru Hazlitt, GCap’s chief executive, is set to unveil her future plans for GCap on Monday. While GCap are keeping the details of what has become known as the “defence document” very quiet, sources say Ms Hazlitt is very confident of her new strategy. What is encouraging is that it appears pleasing advertisers is at the centre of her plan. Ms Hazlitt has scheduled a meeting in the afternoon of her presentation with a group of key media buyers at GCap’s Leicester Square offices – a rare but sensible move. After all, without them, there is no commercial radio.

—How Do You Eat Yours?, the slogan famously associated with Cadburys’ Creme Egg is set for the scrap heap in favour of the slogan, Here Today, Goo Tomorrow!. Cadburys, which has undertaken a major overhaul of its advertising in the past year, what with the famous Phil Collins gorilla advert for Dairy Milk, is changing its Easter Creme Egg campaign for the first time in 23 years.
