Manual labour

Sir, Your correspondents who complain about digital camera manuals (letters, June 14) are lucky to have one. My wife’s new camera came with a disk to go into our PC. This produced an all-English manual, not supplied in text form. It was down to us, at our own expense in paper and ink, to print off its 123 pages. Now that’s what I call chutzpah.

Yours faithfully,

BARRY HYMAN,

4 Priory View, Bushey Heath,

Hertfordshire WD23 4GN.

From Mr James Goldman

Sir, Whilst reading the manual of my new oven, I read that the clock dims during the hours between 11pm and 6am to “give a slight energy saving”.

When we do make the effort to read our instruction manuals, they can be entertaining.

Yours faithfully,

JAMES GOLDMAN,
