A man has been shot dead outside a Bristol pub, police confirmed today.
The shooting happened outside the Coach House pub in Stapleton Road, Easton, in the St Paul's district of the city, where hundreds of people had been celebrating the annual carnival on Saturday.
A man and a woman are also being treated at Bristol Royal Infirmary for gunshot injuries which are not thought to be life-threatening. It is not yet clear whether the two incidents are linked.
Police said a man in his twenties has been arrested in connection with the shooting which happened at around 4am this morning.
Detective Superintendent Sue Scott of Avon and Somerset Police, who is leading the investigation, said the incident was still "an emerging picture".

She said the dead man was understood to be aged about 23 and that his family had been informed.
The scene of the shooting has been closed off in both directions between Warwick Road and Oxford Place.
Shots were heard by people living in the area, said Scott, who added that she was not aware that the shootings had any link with the carnival.
"As I understand it, [the carnival] went very well and a lot of people had a great time there. This happened a long time afterwards.
"We can't rule out a connection, but at this time we don't know," she said.

The shootings follow two recent stabbings in the area. Three people were arrested on suspicion of murder after a man in his thirties was stabbed to death in Walker Close in the early hours of Friday.
On Monday, a man suffered leg and chest injuries when he was stabbed in a butcher's shop on Stapleton Road. Two men have been arrested in connection with that incident.
John Kiely, a Bristol city councillor for Easton, said he had called for an in-depth inquiry into violent crime in the Stapleton Road area following a stabbing last year.
"It is very concerning there appears to be an escalation in violent crime over the past few weeks. One person was fatally stabbed recently and another seriously injured," he said.
"There have been concerns about knife crime, but to hear of a fatal shooting is even more worrying.

"Obviously there are worries about what resources are going to be available to the police in the future, especially given the ward has some of the highest crime figures for the Avon and Somerset Constabulary area."
