Love spuds for Valentine’s Day

Two single women who do not have dates for Valentine’s Day are feeling a bit more chipper after finding perfect heart-shaped potatoes. Kayley Mathews, 17, right, found hers at the café where she works in Briton Ferry, South Wales. “We couldn’t chop it up,” she said.

Tracie Wright, 43, a single mother, discovered hers as she peeled spuds at home in Basildon, Essex. She said: “I can’t help but think it’s an omen. We could all do with some love and romance.”
