Sir, How refreshing to read the sensible and caring comments from Rammeya Nathan from Hounslow Town Primary School (“We need to wait until the country’s better off”, July 1). I heard a teacher on the radio saying she only went into the job because of the pension.

Who would you like teaching your children, I wonder?
