Live TV murder

Sir, There should be a simple question about the choice of photographs from events like the murder of the journalists in Virginia (reports, Aug 27). Would any of us wish pictures to be shown of ourselves or our family a couple of seconds away from being brutally killed? Increasingly, there will be stills and video available of all sorts of terrible deaths, and the global internet cannot be regulated. But the responsible media demean themselves if they too use images from the last moments of life just because they’re there.
