Live transfer window webchat, with Gary Jacob

The Times transfer expert answered your questions on who is going where during the January window

Gary Jacob tackled the comings and goings at your club in an hour-long live debate today.

The proposed swap between Liverpool and Sunderland involving Ryan Babel and Kenwyne Jones dominated the discussion, but our transfer expert is not convinced that the deal will go through, mainly because Steve Bruce is not keen on Babel. However, Bruce is looking to offload Jones and Kieron Richardson, with Birmingham interested in the latter.

Jacob discloses that Rafael Benitez, the Liverpool manager, turned down the chance to sign Ruud van Nistelrooy and with the Jones deal in the water he may look abroad for a striker on loan. For more, read the webchat.
