Working lunch
Filmore & Union, 62A Low Petergate, York
What to expect This York-founded northern mini-chain, which is named after two streets in San Francisco, focuses on healthy eating and good service. Here, in the original manifestation, in one of York’s oldest buildings — the original Minster School — you will encounter only food that does you good, perfect for an afternoon brainstorm. It’s all made from scratch and all diets are catered for.
What to order There is no danger of overindulging here, so try a seasonal tagine with fragrant rice and salad leaves (£11).
If that won’t fill you up, add a watermelon salad with quinoa, watercress, chilli peas, spinach, pomegranates, pecans and balsamic dressing (£4). Wash it down with a delicious “elixir shot”, £3 of goodness in a glass.
