Leigh Day is one of London’s most renowned human rights law firms. It represented the family of Molly Russell, a 14-year-old girl who took her own life, at her inquest, which concluded that depressive social media posts contributed to her death in 2017. The family had to fight for information from Meta, owner of the social media site Instagram, over what material the 14-year-old had viewed in a case that has significantly highlighted the issue of online harm.

The firm also launched the first in a series of environmental collective action claims on behalf of millions of customers overcharged by water companies for allegedly abusing their dominant market position by underreporting the number of times they cause pollution incidents and overcharging customers as a result.

It is representing about 1,200 Liverpool FC fans injured at the Champions League final in Paris in 2022 in a claim against Uefa, which alleges that the governing body for European football failed to ensure a safe and secure environment for those attending.

Commended for administrative & public law; employment; human rights; personal injury & clinical negligence
