This 29-stone Siberian tiger was caught on camera by Arno Enzerink, a Finnish photographer, at the Triple-D Ranch, a game reserve in Montana. The tiger, Atticus, revealed his 9ft frame as he leapt to catch a piece of meat tossed to him.

Mr Enzerink, who was attending a Wildlife Up Close photography workshop at the ranch saw one of nature’s most fearsome creatures lunge for its supper and stood his ground to get his shot.

“It was the first time I’ve ever seen him jump in that perfect form,” Triple-D’s Kathleen O’Neil said, referring to the park’s male Siberian tiger, Atticus. “It was a remarkable shot.”

The leap came as Atticus prowled the shallow water along the edge of a river, waiting to be fed. When one of the caretakers tossed a piece of meat in the air, he pounced, water streaming from his nearly 9-foot form.

“You don’t really realise the size of it when you see it prancing around on all fours,” Mr Enzerink said.

The Triple-D Ranch is a 50-acre game reserve with more than 130 animals, including bears, wolves, and snow leopards. Its primary function is to provide camera-trained animals for still photography and cinematic use purposes.
