League One round up: Jordan Rhodes denies Leeds

FORM went out of the window yesterday as the highest League One attendance of the season saw Huddersfield come back twice against leaders Leeds United to draw 2-2 at Elland Road. Leeds went into the game having won their past five in the league without conceding a goal, but 36,723 watched as their Yorkshire rivals showed the resilience that has been absent away from home this season.

"To come here and more than match the league leaders is very pleasing for me," Lee Clark, the Huddersfield manager, said.

Robert Snodgrass put the home side in front with less than 90 seconds on the clock, Lee Novak heading Huddersfield level soon after half-time. Max Gradel fired Leeds back in front but with 12 minutes remaining, Jordan Rhodes headed the second equaliser from close range, before Anthony Pilkington hit the bar for the visitors.

Deon Burton's goal helped Charlton, in second, extended their unbeaten run to five matches with a 1-0 win against Southend, who have lost five of their past six games Norwich made it seven unbeaten in the league with a 2-0 win against Oldham, who have lost six of their past seven games.

Three first-half goals in the 3-0 defeat of Millwall returned Hartlepool to winning ways after three straight defeats.

Southampton, who in midweek moved out of the relegation positions for the first time this season, are setting their sights on an unlikely playoff place after a 3-1 win at in-form Walsall. The hosts were unbeaten in five in the league, winning four of them, but were swept aside by Southampton, who have lost just once in 14 games.

Stockport have been in freefall recently and yesterday's 2-1 defeat at Wycombe, who scored twice in the last 16 minutes, was their seventh in a row in the league, and sent them to the bottom.
