Kate's Fake Take

Alison Jackson works her impressionistic magic on 'Kate' and 'Wills' in this special royal edition of her weekly video series

With Kate and Wills’s big day still not confirmed, it was up to the artist Alison Jackson — who shoots celebrity lookalikes in funny and compromising situations — to deliver a fake take on the royal dress-fitting. Of her copycat Kate, she says: "I had two lookalikes: one had a great body, the other a great face. Putting them together provided the perfect outcome." Recreating a proposing Prince William proved easier thanks to a lookalike whose face she says is capable of "extraordinary metamorphosis". "I try and depict what the public are thinking about," says the artist, "and everyone’s been waiting for ages for an announcement about William and Kate. I did consider a shot of her writing 'Marry me!' on his chest. Maybe that’s next!"
