Jurgen Meltzer and Iveta Benesova win mixed doubles

The number nine seeds seal victory in less than an hour with comprehensive 6-3, 6-2 victory over Mahesh Bhupathi and Elena Vesnina

Jurgen Melzer and Iveta Benesova claimed the mixed doubles crown by beating Mahesh Bhupathi and Elena Vesnina, the number four seeds.

It took them seeds just 51 minutes to win 6-3 6-2 on Centre Court as they went through the entire tournament without dropping a set.

The pair’s comprehensive victory secured a first Grand Slam title for Czech Benesova, whereas the big-serving Austrian won the men's doubles last year at Wimbledon.

For Bhupathi, however, the wait for his eighth Grand Slam mixed doubles crown will go on.
