Anthony Joshua has signed an exclusive multi-bout deal with Showtime, the US TV network.
Joshua is hugely popular in America and seen as the sport’s next big thing.
“British boxing is at an all time high” Stephen Espinoza, executive vice president of Showtime said today.
Dominic Breazeale, the American who will face Joshua on June 25, was also present at the announcement of the television deal and added he could not care less about Joshua’s airtime contracts and that he would be back next month in the UK to knock out the IBF world heavyweight champion.
“I wish it was this weekend,” the American said.

Eddie Hearn, Joshua’s promoter, said Breazeale, who is unbeaten in 17 bouts, would offer Joshua “a real test” at the 02 Arena where tickets sold out for the fight in 30 minutes.
Breazeale will be Joshua’s fourth undefeated opponent and the 2012 Olympic champion said it was crucial for him, in spite of the fact he was sat behind the championship belt he secured on April 23 by knocking out Charles Martin, to maintain his underdog mentality.
