Jordan Henderson is set to return from injury for Liverpool in their FA Cup tie with West Bromwich Albion on Saturday following a month-long absence.
The Liverpool captain has missed the last six games after sustaining a hamstring injury in the first half of the 3-3 draw with Arsenal on December 22, but is now back in the fold.
Jürgen Klopp opted not to include the midfielder in his plans for Monday’s 1-0 defeat at Swansea City, although Henderson has stepped up his training since and will come under consideration for the fourth-round game.
Liverpool are likely to make numerous changes, with the West Brom manager Alan Pardew reluctant to shuffle his pack too much as he seeks to maintain the momentum of a run which has seen them lose just one of their last six matches.
Pardew’s side face Manchester City at the Etihad next Wednesday, but despite that daunting schedule he indicated he will select a strong team.

“Well, we play Liverpool away then City away in four days,” he said. “I mean, it doesn’t get much harder than that in Europe probably - Real Madrid and Barcelona, you could probably argue.
“We have to be as competitive as we can in those games. If you’re asking me which one is more important to us, it’s the City game. But I have vast experience in the FA Cup and I know it can give you great momentum. We’ll be looking to come to Liverpool and do ourselves justice, for sure.”
Liverpool are set to complete the signing of the Falkirk left back Tony Gallacher this week for £200,000.
The 18-year-old has been training at Liverpool’s academy and will be added to their development squad.
