Joe Hart has been told that he must finish his season-long loan at West Ham United from Manchester City, despite the goalkeeper’s concern that his lack of first-team football may jeopardise his England spot at the World Cup this summer.

West Ham are monitoring Morgan Schneiderlin in the belief that Everton would be willing to sell if they can recoup the £20 million that they paid for the France midfielder a year ago.

Another Everton midfielder, Davy Klaassen, has been urged to leave the club on loan before the transfer window closes tomorrow. The Holland international, who joined for £23.6 million from Ajax in the summer, has not featured in the league since September 23 when he was substituted after 55 minutes of a 2-1 victory over Bournemouth.

The former Everton forward Gerard Deulofeu has joined Watford on loan from Barcelona until the end of the season. Watford will pay the Spain international’s wages.

West Bromwich Albion have rejected a bid from Derby County to sign James McClean on loan. Leonardo Ulloa has rejoined Brighton & Hove Albion on loan from Leicester for the rest of the season. The striker played for Brighton in 2013-14. Badou Ndiaye, the 27-year-old Senegal midfielder, is set to join Stoke City for £15 million from Galatasaray.

In the Championship, Tim Cahill, 38, has re-signed for Millwall, for whom he played between 1997 and 2004 before being sold to Everton.
