Sir, Katherine Scholfield displays a shallow understanding of the significance of ownership and associated risks in financial transactions (letter, Sept 2).
A basic tenet of Sharia finance is that money can’t buy money. The only way for a lender to make profit is by sharing the risk and responsibility for the purchase.
