Ireland have included Jamie Heaslip and Bernard Jackman in their starting line-up for Saturday’s RBS 6 Nations Championship match against France in Paris.
The Leinster players’ promotion from the bench are among five changes, two positional, to the side that laboured to a 16-11 victory over Italy.
Heaslip slots in at No 8 with Denis Leamy switching to blind-side flanker and the out-of-form Simon Easterby dropping to the bench. Jackman replaces Rory Best at hooker with the Ulster front row dropped to the substitutes.
Eddie O’Sullivan, the Ireland head coach, has selected Andrew Trimble at inside centre in place of the injured Gordon D’Arcy, with Rob Kearney named on the left wing. D’Arcy will miss the rest of the tournament after he broke his arm against Italy.
Shane Horgan, of Leinster, wins a place on the bench after completing his recovery from a rib injury in Ireland A’s defeat by England Saxons on Friday.
