Chanelle McCoy Health, a research company set up by the entrepreneur Chanelle McCoy to produce cannabidiol (CBD) food supplements, has raised almost €1.5 million. Among the investors are Gillian Walsh, wife of the former jockey Ruby Walsh, and Frances Smullen, wife of the late jockey Pat Smullen.

McCoy, who is married to the former champion jockey AP McCoy, set up the company alongside Caroline Glynn in 2019. It sells CBD products under the brand name Pureis. The shares were priced at just over €5,746 in this funding round. Hong Kong-based Novo Ventures has invested €1.25 million, while Walsh has put in more than €22,000 and Smullen has invested over €28,000, documents filed with the Companies Registration Office show.

Other investors include Kerri McGuinness, a native of Newbridge and founder of Very Kerri, a UK hospitality business, and Caroline Norris, an equine photographer. The company has also entered into a commercial partnership with Panacea, a female-led American CBD producer, to launch a new CBD food supplement in the US.
