He dipped his toe into the world of beauty late last year with nail polish, and now the shoe maestro Christian Louboutin is following up with Lip Colour. These beautiful objets are inspired, he says, by “the scales of a mermaid’s tail, dressed with what could have been a phial filled with an elixir, an essence oozing strength and beauty”. The range includes 38 colours in three finishes: velvet matt, sheer voile and silky satin, each effect reflected in a corresponding case so you can be sure you pick the right one. Louboutin’s signature red is the only one, however, to be celebrated in all three finishes.
