This is patently untrue, as is the assertion in the article (Health chiefs fail job test, News, last week) that the chief executives have a difficulty with Hugh Cawley.
In fact, each of us has embraced the change process in the health services and supports the need for the changes taking place in its organisational structures. We have also been working closely with Kevin Kelly, executive chairman of the Interim HSE and with Hugh Cawley, and will continue to support them in their very challenging change management work.
On a personal note, I did not apply for the chief executive’s post nor will I be applying for any of the other senior management posts within the Health Services Executive, for the sole and simple reason that I will be pursuing other career options.
