Hunt for body after severed arms found in lake

Fishermen found a severed arm belonging to taxi driver Anthony Whitefield, 47, a father of five

Police are continuing the search for a man’s body after his severed arms were found in an Essex lake.

The limbs, the first of which was discovered by fishermen on Thursday, belonged to Anthony Whitefield, a father of five who was reported missing in February.

The 47-year-old, a former taxi driver, was last seen by his family on February 8.

Police officers from the Kent and Essex Serious Crime Directorate have continued to search the lake and the surrounding area in Buckhurst Hill and yesterday they discovered a second arm.

A 53-year-old man, who was arrested on Friday, remains in police custody on suspicion of murder and the investigation continues.
