CELEBRATE summer with a palette of daring hues. Bypass neutral tones and go for the shock factor — don’t be too worried about perfection or polish, just daub it on. For inspiration, think of Twiggy, or Marisa Berenson on the covers of Vogue circa 1969: matt orange lips, or an eyelid daubed with emerald green.
At Ungaro, the face was left bare with just bright pink lips to add colour, but if you’re less brave, do as they did at Versus and simply add neon tips to your nails. Single out just one feature at a time for maximum effect. If you have a tan you need nothing more than a glossy slick of something bright wherever it takes your fancy — eyes, lips or cheeks. Lashings of black mascara will compliment your handiwork. Whether you go for a carefully considered smudge or something more sharp-edged and graphic, the key is colour and the only rule is: the brighter the better.
