1. Ensure it is professionally valeted inside and out (pay to have this done if necessary). Have any major imperfections such as dents, rust or interior fabric tears repaired.
2. Ensure the car was serviced recently and has some MOT.
3. Advertise with a picture in the local press and the most popular classified magazines in this area. Follow this format for the advert:
<Manufacturer> <Model variant e.g. Gti> <mileage> <engine size> <year and number plate Mark e.g. ‘X’ or ‘52’>. <Key added extras and specification>. <Full Service History (if there is)> Condition as new, sale due to <reason>. <Price>. No offers.
When someone visits, be helpful and honest, let them test-drive the car, but go with them and check they are insured. Your car will sell easily.
