Sir, Your correspondent Jane Heller (letter, Sept 1) suggests, by implication, that we should pay for the cost of our food in hospital because we must pay for it when at home. In isolation the suggestion has appeal; ignoring questions of choice of menu, quality, quantity, timing, etc. But when I am at home those kind enough to visit do not have to pay to park on my drive.
