Hornets to cut through Blades

Watford should be backed at 6-5 with Paddy Power to beat visitors Sheffield United in a clash of the Premiership newcomers on Tuesday evening.

Points are critical to both sides — Watford are nineteenth in the league, one point and one place below the Blades — and the Hornets have not been helped by untimely injury problems.

On-loan goalkeeper Ben Foster has returned to parent club Manchester United for an operation, and Watford are also without forward Marlon King and defender Clarke Carlisle. Watford, though, have played with some spirit and their record of just one win does them little justice. More than once they have created chances, only to fail to take advantage, and they give the impression an improvement in form is within their grasp.

Sheffield United come bearing a sense of injustice after a late equaliser at West Ham on Saturday was wiped off, much to the annoyance of manager Neil Warnock.

The Blades are tough opponents in this kind of struggle, but Watford may just have the edge going forward.

Sheffield United are 12-5 with Stan James, and the draw 9-4 with VC Bet.
