Hooray for Holyrood

Sir, A superb world-class building achieved for less than a third more than the cost of the Westminster annexe, despite the deaths of both its prime mover and architect — this should have been the way for Times readers to herald the remarkable achievement of Holyrood, rather than their petty criticism (letters, September 9).

The constant, vicious denigration by the “Scottish” media of both politicians and construction of the new Scottish Parliament has been horrific from day one — a heightened example of the damage being done to British political life in general by an unelected and irresponsible “commentariat”.

Yours faithfully,

IAN OLSON,

20 Burns Road,

Aberdeen AB15 4NS.
