Your household dilemmas solved

Q: How can I regain the sheen on a few areas of laminate flooring that have become dulled, possibly because I used too strong a cleaner on the floor?

A: Assuming that you are talking about a “B&Q-style” laminate, ie, a picture of wood on HDF with a protective surface, there is little that can be done to repair this type of damage. It may be worth trying a polish such as Parkett, but the chances are that it will not work satisfactorily. Most good flooring retailers will have a range of cleaning and refresher products available and will be happy to advise on the most suitable application.

Next: The flagstones in my hall have become stained and dull. Scrubbing has not worked, so what should I do to get them clean again?
