A COCK AND BULL STORY

Robert Smallwood, 25; Michael McDermott, 25

Michael: “Don’t be put off by the literary connections — it’s a great film. Steve Coogan did a really good job of playing himself, which is probably a difficult thing to do.”

Robert: “I liked the way that the subject of the making of a non-linear film turned out to be an imaginative, non-linear film! And the script was great.”

VENEER, BY JOSÉ GONZÁLEZ

Mary Wells, 32

“I bought this after hearing the song in the Sony commercial on TV. I wasn’t expecting a great deal of variety but there’s a good range of songs. OK, it’s him singing with acoustic guitar on all the tracks, but the melodies are lovely. Unobtrusive but stylish. I’d say it’s perfect music for a chilled-out Sunday morning. All in all a great, well-rounded album. I’d definitely recommend it.”

“What a great show, great fun. The cast on the whole were superb; Steve McNichol is really funny and even the smaller roles are well-acted. The Charles Rennie Mackintosh- inspired stage-design helps to make sense of the play’s world, and the language is fantastic, really powerful.”
