£230, Fidelity Sportswear

Brand watch: Fidelity Sportswear
Outerwear company Fidelity Sportswear was established in Boston, Massachusetts, as a military supplier to the US Navy. The current owners, Gerald and Stewart Webber, are the sons of original partner Edward, and all the manufacturing still takes place in Boston under one roof. This heritage has attracted fans from Robert Redford to Ryan Gosling, and its peacoat has been supplied to the US government since the Forties. Its latest jacket (£230) is made from 32oz Melton wool, with trim and buttons the label has used for 50 years (themandonstore.com).

On the move
Leather luggage and accessories company Coach has launched its first full men’s footwear collection, including loafers and monkstraps as well as sneakers in suede and perforated leather. The shoes – including the Blake and Adam, both £320, in cognac or black – are all made from Italian leather and have lug soles and welting trim detail (uk.coach.com).

Aviator light
Ray-Ban’s Aviator gets an update with a titanium frame and a new take on the classic shape. The RB 8055s, £188, are Ray-Ban’s lightest sunglasses and feature a “Light Ray” hinge, which allows the frames to be assembled without screws. They come in five colours, including gold (davidclulow.com).

5 reasons why we love... Vodafone Smart 4 power smartphone
1. It has a 5in HD multi-touch screen with In Plane Switching. 2. It’s really very quick, with a MediaTek Quad-core processor. 3. You have NFC (near field communication) to talk to other phones. 4. The phone works on Android 4.4 KitKat. 5. And it’s a lot cheaper than its 4G rivals (£175 pay-as-you-go; only from Vodafone stores, 0843 3081988).
