Healthy selfie?

Sir, Your leader (Mar 11) invited comment on whether selfie devotees should be indulged. Sticks of any kind are dangerous around valuable works on display and should be banned from these areas. However, any photo that includes a work of art will be appreciated by many more people and can only encourage greater attendances. Indulge devotees.

Sir, Selfies should not be indulged. Rather, they should be banned as the lowest form of narcissism.

Sir, If the use of selfie sticks is banned, museums and galleries could open up a small annexe containing reproductions of their most famous pieces, in front of which, for a small fee, people would be permitted to use selfie sticks to prove that they have seen the works in question. That way, galleries would be less crowded, selfie-stickers would get their photos, and museums would make some money.
