Scots IVF age limit to be raised
THE age limit for free IVF treatment is to be raised in Scotland to allow more couples to have children in later life. Malcolm Chisholm, the health minister, plans to allow women who have been trying for a baby for two years to get infertility treatment on the National Health Service up to the age of 39. It is unavailable to women aged over 37 at present. More than 1,000 infertile couples are believed to have benefited since free treatment began.
