Harry ‘thinks of Diana daily’

On Monday Prince Harry reminded the world of his late mother’s campaign against landmines. Today he reveals how, for him and his brother, the force of her character is “what keeps us going every day”.

The Prince says that each day he imagines how Diana, Princess of Wales, would act and what she would think of her sons’ charity work. The unconventional nature that captured the world’s attention clearly left its mark on her son — the Prince admits he still thinks of her as “mad”.

In an interview to be broadcast tonight, Harry and Prince William discuss their charity work in southern Africa. During a tour that ended this week, William showed his brother projects in Botswana supported by the Tusk Trust, of which he is patron, while Harry showed William the work of his charity, Sentebale.

Asked what his mother would have thought, Harry said: “Whatever we do, wherever we are and whoever we are with, I particularly always wonder what she’d think ... That’s what keeps us going every day — that thought of what would she’d be like if she was around today.” The interview will be shown at 7.30pm on ITV1.
