David Yates, 12 (2009)
At two and a half hours, the sixth Potter feels long and bit formulaic, despite awesome effects, decent acting and surprisingly funny banter about teenage snogging. Harry’s most difficult year yet is still fun, but Yates can weave subtler magic than this.
