Spider-Man musical set for revamp ahead of official opening as Bono and The Edge plan to write new songs for the €46.7m production

The web of intrigue is growing as Spider-Man: Turn Off The Dark, the critically panned Broadway show with music by U2’s Bono and The Edge, is to close on April 19 for an overhaul.

The show has been previewing since November, but the official opening has been repeatedly delayed. The new launch date is now June 14.

Its director has left and Bono and The Edge plan to write new songs for it. U2 has a 20% stake in the $65m (€46.7m) musical, it is understood. That stake will increase after investors receive an agreed return.
