ANDY RODDICK is 2-5 with Paddy Power to despatch Sebastien Grosjean in the third round of the Canada Masters in a match scheduled to start in the early hours on Friday.
The sixth seed was well on top by the end when beating Argentina’s Juan Chela 7-6, 6-2 in the second round having had to work harder to overcome Belgian Xavier Malisse in the first round, coming back after losing the first set to triumph 3-6 6-0 6-2.
Grosjean, looking ahead to his meeting with Roddick after winning a baseline battle against Paraguay’s Ramon Delgado 6-3 6-2 in the second round, said: “I’ll need to give everything I have from the start. When he is leading, his confidence makes him tough to beat.”
Roddick and Grosjean have met three times, Roddick winning the last twice, latterly running out a 6-3, 6-3 winner on grass in the final of the Stella Artois at Queen’s this summer.
Grosjean is 7-4 with Paddy Power to avenge that defeat in Montreal.
